Oh yes, Like everything... once somebody does it you can always make it better! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I doubt that there is a Honda Splitter/Airdam out there that is not an adaption of my design in one way or the other, although I cant say I've seen anything better yet...
Mostly its more about cheaper than better...
But yes, everything can be improved.

1. use alumalite instead of wood so that when (not if) the car leaves the pavement it doesn't bend the chassis
2. urethane air dam instead of fiberglass so it stays together when an off road excursion happens.
the brackets are great and imo the best part of the p1 splitter.

I sprayed my airdam with linex bedliner.
Let me tell you its one tough unit after it was sprayed.
In the 4+ years I have had my SPMS Splitter I have replaced the blade several times and never ever the airdam.
Making a unit like this can be done, but not cheap.
I haven't seen a kit that's better built than this either.
Seen some good attempts but nothing that comes close.
Most want to turn to lighter weight materials like carbon fiber, unfortunately CF is far from cheap.
Now if our cars were producing 700hp something that light would be more of a necessity.
However we don't have 400K cars and putting something expensive like a cf unit on our inexpensive cars makes no sense.
Wood is just fine for the blade.
As others have proven that it is a disposable item, and Kiwi intended it to be that way.
