I am confident in my creation.I actually bought from him to see what my competition is like.Honestly they are crap!!! He makes them so thin to pop them off the mold, because the design is wrong.
Mine are a different much better design, like a functional naca duct,3-4 times a thick and gel coated black. It is a no brainer if you want durability and function.Mine have held up a whole season in heavy road race use.

Those are like 1-2 layers of glass, spray painted flat black and break the day you mount them in.One may also notice Bondo on them to fill some cracks and imperfections which I will never do.I will post pics to compare cut-aways very shortly. For the same price, you get alot less with those, that is your guys' choice.
They don't break the day you mount them, I know, because I own a set. Many other people have them here too and I've not heard of any complaints about them breaking, cracking, or anything of the sort. You've not really mentioned anything about pricing, so I am not certain how much your parts cost. His ducts are affordable, and get the job done and are easy to install. They are hand made and can be customized per application I am quite sure (thicker if you want them to be, ask him for clarification though).

As for the coating, why would it need a gel coat if it is painted? And, I am quite certain he uses a fiberglass resin to construct them, isn't that all a "gel" coat is, additional resin?

Default Re: My ducts

DavidR - Did you mention 95% of the people who purchase his ducts do not race at all? Thus do not put the abuse to a duct as I would the day I install it.If they do run thier car and buy his ducts, they are not at the level I am aiming my product at or the entire Honda Challenge would have these ducts. The durablility of ducts for show cars is not an issue, for heavy duty race use it is as well as functionality.
I won't mention price in a post in respect for the forum,PM me. I am sure my ducts are very, very, very comperable in price, and for a more durable and functional product.I will contact and sell to those hardcore track junkies that I want to aim to and I will leave it to the users to decide which is the better product for thier needs,be it show or race, and I stand by my above post. The people deserve a choice and a more economical one at that.

Before this becomes a episode of the hills, let me clear things up.One day there was a man who loved his Honda cars and wanted to share what he made and offer it to others, and so he created a set of billet motor mounts that you can swap X-series engine into your X-model honda, and it was great;so the lightbulb went on for others and a few other motor mount sets came out. Each company making thier mounts slightly different to "brand" his own,but basically a similar copy of the original.Since the original was better than the others who used steel, who try to cut production cost to make more money while keeping retail cost competitive, the original stood out and eventually had a stronghold of the market.
I am going to add a choice to the market for the people. This is the premise our entire industry is based on and I have watched grow since I began my interest in the hobby and working on Hondas in 1992.I welded in a B16 into a 91 Si before mounts were even out, thats all we had! There is nothing wrong with a little competition and product improvement/re-design.Things like this are posted on HT all the time and we love to read them.
Finally,as I end this post, each person on this forum who make, sells,or buys parts and installs them knows exactly what I mean, and it is in the hands of the kids... once my products catch on let the consumer be the judge.

I have that being prototyped,I dont want to disclose too much right now,but a metal duct something like the fiberglass ones for the bumper, that will bolt to the caliper bracket mounting locations.I am aiming to develop my kits to be a complete bumper to caliper/rotor kit with everything included even tubing, and more affordable then most think.

Holy back from the grave batman!

PM sent. I still have foglight ducts and I also make a steel box/duct for the rotor on the spindle side, per order, depending on the brake caliper/rotor setup being utilized.
