Delsol Setup
I am trying to get some info on Delsol Vtec race car setup, I need to find out if any one is running one and what kind of spring rate they have ??? I bought one and it has 800lbs front and 1200lbs rear and it sounds to high ?? any help is appreciated.

i would think suspension setup would be similar to setting up any 88+ civic.. why so different just because it's an open topped delsol? what kind of racing are you doing? for road courses i'd say those rates are just about right.. for auto-x they may be a bit on the stiff side but will probably work pretty well.. what kind of dampers are you running? sways?
Improved Touring car, the car has revalved Koni Single with front and rear sway bar Mike Cottrel out of Atlanta was running that setup with 800 lbs front springs and 1200 lbs rear and I think that is to much.
I used to run a ITA CRX with the same shocks with 500lbs front and 700 rear with no sway bar at all l front and rear and the car was perfect, the Delsol is only 200lbs more and it seems that it is almost like a CRX in weight distribution so I think the best setup may be to remove the front bar and put 700 front and 900 rear springs.
I was hopping that one of you guys may have some exprience Road Racing a Delsol and can give me some advice.

I ran a del Slo with 600f 800r with a stock front bar and no rear. The car pushed a fair bit. It also felt like it could handle more rate. Swapping the coilovers from my ITR to the Slo more or less made it feel like the R. As long as the chassis is stiff enough I think the Slo would be more like an ITR than a CRX, so using ITR rates might not be such a bad idea. Another thing is the shocks were probably revalved for the higher rates, so who knows what'll happen when you put the softer ones on.
You can always buy a pair of 600 pound springs for the front and move your 800s to the back if you want to experiment. Experimenting is fun! Next year I'm going to be moving my 800s to the front and pick up some 1100s for the rear. Mmmmm, rate r0x!
