I'm having some trouble decifering SCCA D stock rules. I currently own a 97 ITR bone stock. The only non factory thing on my car is a K&N air filter. I've been contemplating adding Z10 Traction bars to my car but am confused by the rules of Stock class. Does the Z10 Traction bars change my suspension geometry? Or is this a legal modification? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

 

within stock classes for the SCCA, unless it EXPLICITLY says you *CAN* do something, you cannot.

Traction bars would immediately throw you out of stock class.

 

One more thing about the air filter. Is it a drop in replacement or is it the whole intake/cone filter? For stock, the 1st is legal, 2nd isn't.

 

There's a link in the forum FAQ with an *overview* (not exact) of the stock rules. If the rulebook doesnt say you can do it, you cannot.

 

nope. Traction bars will knock you out of D stock and, IMO, they really don't do that much to cut down on wheel hop... especially at stock power output.

 

thanks all for the input. And yes my airfilter is a direct replacement drop in. E2427. i guess i'm gonna leave out the traction bars.
