Default Corner Eight Coilover

Anyone had any experience with Corner Eight suspension or know anything about them? Thanks in advance.

Personally, I would never buy a product from a company that can't even provide correct information. Doing so, screams "craptastic product".

If the shocks actually have dampening, they would be making things wet. Last thing my suspension needs is water.

What they mean is 20 "marked increments" of damping adjustment, all of which are probably useless (or at least next to useless and only minimally functional).

Also, the spring rates listed are absurdly stiff for street use, and the wrong front/rear bias for actual handling . This indicates the primary purpose is to dump the car, without care for actual handling performance.

So if you only care how low you can slam the car, don't care about ride quality or performance, and want something cheap to fill that need, go for it. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

I am planning on doing some HPDEs next year so I was looking into getting some springs and dampers. The car will not be driven on the street, other than to get to the event. I guess I am just looking to improve the handling without breaking the bank. I know many poeple go with Koni dampers and Ground Control coilovers. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.

No other suggestions from me. You've already been mentioned the best "bang for the buck" solution (Koni and GC).

Unless you're willing to spend some more. Since you state no street use, consider revalved Konis and even stiffer spring rates than the OTS Yellows can handle. Unfortunately, I have no experience with Preludes, and can't recommend rates.

You should also checkout revalved Bilstein and CG - they make a fantastic combo.

Thanks for helping us get the word out about C8Sport. The P1 Coilover System that you are referring to here won't get your suspension wet. They were new to the US in 2008 and are currently on sale for HT members in the HT marketplace.

These springs have been street and track tested to allow flexibility in comfort and handling responsiveness.

Let us know if all the descriptions you've posted are first hand. If you're unhappy with the product, we'll take it back from you under the C8Sport FLEX maintenance program.

Thanks!

I dunno man... this all looks pretty staged here.
User asks.. few responses, here comes the sponsor

I wouldnt buy anything for my race car off ebay.

Only tested and true products.
Now if they want to sponsor some cars to get their name out there, Id be open to testing some of their dampers to see if they are all that.

fixed for you, no charge. ;P

I agree though, looks staged. Should we request shock dynos just like the suspension forum did from BWR?

A 2 year later reply to me ranting? Wow.

How exactly are springs "tested to allow flexibility in comfort and handling responsiveness"? What flexibility? Like all springs, they have exactly one fixed rate (even a progressive spring still has a fixed rate curve)...

They won't get the suspension wet, but the site still uses the term dampening in the descriptions of all products. Dampening is to make wet. Damping is what shocks do.

Yeah, I'm an **** retentive grammer ****, but come on. A product producer should bother with the minuscule effort to at least make certain that a product description is correct. Failure to do so shows a complete lack of concern with either the product or customer. Now, who wants to buy from a company like that?

Okay, time to go back to drinking...

Tuner, maybe the rates changed in the last two years, but 12/6K doesn't translate to "absurdly high" to me. I think that's a pretty terrible spread, yes, but not high. That being said, that is my ONLY argument with your statement, I agree 100% with the rest

Anyone get a free set to test yet???
I havent seen any more posts from this vendor so I guess they are doing pretty good?
Little does he know getting some shocks on a few race cars and having good reviews would boost his business.

Exactly. Let the racers try them and if they aprove, then the tt,hpde, ect crowd will follow. I'd love to try them with some good rates on 'em. See how they fair. But why pay to try shocs when I can pay for what I know works.

Just so you guys know, carshops has not signed on since his last post here. I'm not supporting him, but don't jump to the conclusion that he is ignoring you. He may actually be doing that, but at least as of right now it doesn't look like that's the case.

Just saw the updates to this thread. We just signed on HT as a sponsor so glad to finally start participating in the discussion here at HT about C8SPORT products.

Lo-Buck EF, send us a PM with your information. We can definitely look into sponsoring your race/track program. Will need to know how many cars you have and which applications you need. Assuming you have an EF, but just want to be sure.

Our products are used in Honda cup car races in Asia, so these should be okay for competition here.

The P1 Coilover System may be sold out now for your specific application, but we now have our new SSD Coilover System line and we can run custom spring rates as well.

Thanks all for the feedback and the support. Looking forward to sponsoring a Honda Challenge car.

I don't know if you work directly with Corner8 carshopusa.com but their customer service seems non existent. I contacted them about a set of coil overs I purchased a while back, because the shocks went out six months after I purchased them. After asking for my the model of my car, and the model of the coil overs. They stop responding and I haven't heard back since.

Well that rules me out of trying something, even if they do correct your problem.
6 months is not a good life expectancy for a set of shocks
