Default Better EF chassis?

I plan to start autocrossing this new coming year and have decided on an EF because they are cheap and easy to mod. Which is better for autocrossing the CRX or the Civic HB.? I think the CRX has a shorter wheelbase, does that make a difference? Pros/cons. Also, I am planning on a using a simple coil-over setup (Tein Basic) and a 22 MM rear sway bar. is anything else recommended?

1 - search and use the forum FAQ

2 - it wont matter which chassis you start out with, you're better off building the driver than building the car.

3 - happy holidays

Since you havent done any autocrossing at all, i'd recommend you go out in your RSX and get a feel for it before you start diving in to something else. No you wont hurt your car

i think the thing to consider most when deciding between civic and CRX is the difference in classes the two cars can compete in due to the 4 seater vs 2 seat layout. outside of CSP, CRX's dont compete in the same class as civics like STS and SM i believe, whereas the CRX has to compete in SM2. the civic is the reigning national champ of STS.

http://www.redshiftmotorsports.com/ChrisTech.htm here's your national champ winning blueprint. but i guarantee without enough seat time, youll not even come close to his times. this just isnt like drag racing where showing up with the right "setup" can earn you an automatic win.

heh, aside from a couple added things that would take me out of STS, like a cage and gutted interior... it appears I inadvertently built a nationally winning capable STS car while building a ITA-spec road raced car
