Autocross in NOVA, need help getting started
I live in Northern VA and would like to try my hand at autocross. All i hear is "twisties, twisties twisties" so i figured ill take a break from drag racing and try this out. I need some general beginner info and stuff that is pretty specific to my area (like best tracks, fees etc.). Im driving a 1996 4 door gsr. Suspension wise i only have a dc strut bar (any suggestions for a lower tie bar compliment would be great). I also have a bear big brake kit and 17" racing hart rims wrapped in toyo proxes (which i am assuming will have to change for the track). Thanks in advance... Oh yeah, how long do they run autocrosses, is it seasonal, etc.

This page belongs to Autocrossers, LTD. They are part of the Metro Washington Council of Sports Car Clubs (MWCSCC) which holds a well organized championship series every year. The link above contains links to the schedule for the MWCSCC and the DC Region SCCA series. Most preregistration for events can be found through this link as well.
As mentioned, SCCA holds events at FedEx field. Events are also held (by the other MWCSSC memebers) at Rosecroft Raceway.
H-Ters who frequent DC area autocrosses:
Crack Monkey (Al)
Lt Dan (Dan)
crxman (Joey)
Geezer (Gerry)
Drew M (Drew)
slowSER (Pat)
and I'm sure I missed a few others.

I've been to one single event this year.
That's right...there's only two real venues anymore. Rosecroft and FedEx. I miss the Colony 7 lot. That's where I took part in my very first autocross back in 1999.
