Default Auto-X Class

Guys, this is last minute and need to know ASAP. Im taking my friend to autocross with me this weekend but i need to know what class he is going to be placed in before i get there. It is a 2007 VW GTI, automatic, bone stock (stock tires) except for an aftermarket coil-over suspension. Thanks

If the engine is a 1.8 liter or bigger it will be in STX(if it is turboed I think it will also be in STX even if it is a 1.6 liter engine). If the engine is blow 1.6 liters it will be in STS. I'm sure the people at the event will help class the car.

who ever told you that is wrong it most definetly goes in the STX class

http://sccaforums.com/forums/thread/197317.aspx
heres a thread on scca forums about it

even the rules specifically says the GTI goes in STX they use it as an example

its a 2l Turbo with a locking diff

its cool
the rules are confusing as hell
always good to have multiple people look at them sometimes

like the one about rear lower strut bar braces with sway bars in sts is confusing as hell
ive read it abotu 100+ times and read and posted in the 20 page thread about it on scca forums and still dont get it
all i know is it says i cant have the asr or comptech brace and that makes me want to stab someone in the neck

I was just going off the top of my head. I guess I should read the rulebook to be sure before I post.

What kind of car do you race? Since you are from columbus I'm guessing you race with OVR?

ya OVR
im in college now so I havent gotten to race much

01 gsr
koni sports 600lb front and back springs
camber kit front and back (-2.5f -2r)
rota slips with falkens
comptech header
apexi ws exhaust
aem intake
sparco evo 2

I ran GS first but got sick of the 200$ hoosiers that listed a year
plus the whole mini cooper crap thing I went to STS and while im not gonna win (thats all 89 civic si) i can run towards the top consistantly
plus hoosiers suck to learn on
