I`m still looking for a trackable street-tire in my size: 215/40/16.
Look at my avatar so see what I`m doing.
Problem: The size. The best tires are not available.
So please don`t tell me to use another tire size, because I`ve only got permission to drive 215/40. Please tell me what tire you would choose in 215/40 (NO slicks or semi slicks). It should have a strong sidewall for extreme handling.
Azenis are not available in Germany, S03`s doesn`t come in the right size.

There's only a handful of tires here made in that size... none of them are really what you want.
- Hoosier (A3S03/R2S03)
- Kumho ECSTA Supra 712
- Hankook Ventus
- Nitto 450
- Falken Ziex
- Yoko A520
- Falken GR Beta
I'm thinking a toss-up between the Kumho/Falken FK-451/Hankook H405
I wouldn't want any of them personally.
[edit] Maybe you could get your hands on some of the better tires that we don't get... some decent Yokohama's or something...

yeah, I`m using 7,5*16 cp-035 rims and received permit in addition to 215/40.
There are some good points on that because the combo is very light, the tire is wide and the FD ratio is better
I will not be allowed to choose for example So2`s in 205/45 or so.
The nextbest Yokohama is AVS Sport 205/50/16 sized...
Last season I ran on Dunlop SP 9000 and hey, I have done awesome suspension upgrades and the tire had been definitly the weakest part (we say, the car "swims").
I need a tire similiar to S03 in 215/40.
