The purpose of this setup is to vent crankcase pressure. The stock PCV valve closes under positive pressure thus creating excessive crank case pressure. By using a catch can it allows the pressure to escape thru filter on top of the catch can.

Yes they do. It depends where the can is mounted. If you want to flush mount it against something flat then I weld a flat bar across the back of the can with one hole on each side.
If you want to mount it in between the battery and fuel filter then the can will have two upside down L shaped brackets welded onto the can. Then another two L shape brackets that you screw into the firewall. Here's a picture. In this picture there is only one bolt holding the can to the bracket on the firewall. I recommend using 2 bolts so the catch can doesn't move from left to right. The kit comes with all the bolts and self tapping screws. Pics
