Default Scuffed Paint

Okay so long story short, I used the green scotchbrite side of a kitchen sponge on my girls car to try and get something off and scuffed the whole driver side of her hood and driver side fender. Luckily its only those two areas the rest are fine. Now I used Meguiars scratch remover and then Meguiars polish right after and it looked almost perfectly fine. But today I looked and there was some build up of the wax and some areas you can see the scuff still. almost all of it. She wants to take it somewhere to get fixed after I screwed it up so I cant blame her but I know its gonna cost an arm and a leg to do this. Does anyone know the best way to fix this? I'm thinking I should just take the parts off, scuff it all and repaint and clear coat it. Is there any other way to fix this?

It depends on how Coarse the sponge pad was.
If it's not too bad, you could sand the areas with 1500 grit then move up to 2000 and even higher from there. After that you could buff it and polish.
