Help prepping for paint!!!
figure a full repaint for a DC4 probably costs what...4 grand or so? not counting replacing a rad support and rear center panel? I wish i had the money to do it PROPERLY but im stuck with what i got right now.
honestly i couldn't tell you even a rounded estimate without seeing the car, but yeah, probably around there for a high quality job. it all depends how much work you need though. we just shipped a '77 vette last week that was pushing $13,000. it's a 'better than stock' restoration, and had a TON of work done, but still... the sky is the limit.
Okay thanks Everyone for their opinions and information!!! Greatly appreciated.

I havent had the time to be one here much but I did start and got some done.
From what previous information on the the car the paint is Sherman Williams and so is the clearcoat. Both layers are very very Sh*tty. Massive drips here thick *** layers there. I guess it wasnt rattle can after all.
I started sanding 80 grit by hand for the whole body so far... then I'm moving to 150, 220, THEN 320 in the future.
Next question is! The bumpers, fenders and wing were painted poorly also is there a faster process prepping them?! I'm afraid of continuing this by hand also...

THANK YOU!

Well for starters DO NOT use 80 grit on any plastic pieces, you will tear the **** out of them. The lowest grit I'll use on plastic is a 180 as far as stripping goes, you need to invest in a mini compressor and DA cause hand sanding will take forever.
