Default corrosion

I recently purchased an 02 civic si hatch. There is corrosion on all the aluminum parts in the engine bay as well as some rust on the the wiper arms, and various other small parts here and there. Overall the car is very nice, but I would like to help prevent it from spreading, and get rid of as much of it as possible. I was planning on looking into having it reundercoated, as well as treating and putting a new finish on some of the removable parts. What else can I do to help?

aluminum rusting ? (aluminum doesn't rust)

sand and prep all surface rust area's, clean , coat with primer , then base coat/clear.

Which is actually oxidized aluminum. And, to be honest, oxidized metal is technically "rust". It doesn't degrade as quickly as oxidized steel, though.

I should be able to post some pictures tomorrow. There doesn't appear to be any actual body rust, just on wiper arms and maybe one or two other pieces, but I suppose that doesn't mean there isn't any. And of course the aluminium oxidation.

For the aluminum oxide, I'd recommend Bar Keeper's Friend, Copper Glo, or some other form of metallic cleanser. For the rusting steel components, you'll need either some sandpaper or maybe just some steel wool. But, you'll need paint to cover up any exposed steel.
