Default Built myself a paint booth.

so i have been gettin ready to do some home body work. just graduated from college with a collision repair certification! i wanted to start my own business so here it goes.

First cleaned up the garage and layed down some matting on the floor.

Then Built myself a frame out of PVC piping. Went pretty well actually. and hung up my curtains.

Then the same shot but with the curtains closed

and the inside!

i know it looks like not very much room inside it but i have ties the hold the plastic back another couple feet on each side. there's plenty of room. i have some floor fans and furnace filters setup for ventilation. i hope everything works out good.

lemme know what ya think!

Quite honestly I think you will have some serious problems with static due to all of that plastic and padding on the floor....which could lead to some fun dust problems...

actually i thought about that a little.. the matting on the floor is rubbing so i shouldnt have much of a problem with that and the curtains are Vinyl so i dont think ill have a problem. thanks for the concern though. if i do run into a problem with it ill definitly let u know.

Is there enough room to work around the sides?

x2, doesn't look like much room to shoot around the sides easily. Good job on rigging up the booth though

That's pretty creative. I assume you'll be tieing down the curtains while painting just so they're not flapping around while spraying. I guess that's what all the tires are for What school did you go to for Collision Repair? I graduated from LTI a few months ago

Love the PVC frame idea, and I think I'll use it when it comes time to paint my bike!

If all the chemicals and solvents found on paint materials didn't exist, i would wish the same... but since things aren't like that.
The guy could do all the work home and when it comes to paint, "rent" a spray booth and get it painted.

Some of you guys do realize that in some states and even counties it is not mandated to have a spray booth.

wet the floors and youll be good. also find some sort of evaporator to go inline with your air hose, the moisture in the air will throw off your paint a little.

650 plus paint is what i charge for just the basic sand/mask/paint. after that its 35-40/hr depending on the severity of the vehicle.

thanks for the compliment

btw this is what my integra looked like before..
