Body panel replacing?
Not sure what I should've put as the title or if this would be the correct forum for my question. So if you wanna refer me to the appropriate forum then that's fine. Anyways, months ago this girl backed into me in the street damaging my door and right rear paneling. I've tried pushing the dents out but it's beyond hope. I got a replacement door on it now and you can see about two or three inches of the inside of the door standing on the outside. I actually had to beat in the bottom frame? under the door so it would actually close. The door does alright but the right rear panel just looks horrible and still prevents my door from closing smoothly. The rear panel is dented from the door till about half way under the right back window. I've seen quite a few EF's sitting in junk yards lately with decent bodies, well my question is if I could just cut out a rear quarter panel and most of it that the door fits into and the bottom half. I could just go after the panel but I would like to get my door to close better too. I realize anything is possible with the right skills but I've never had to do body work on a piece that needs to be this envolved. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Without seeing the car, the correct procedure is hard to tell you. But, if you bolted a different door and it stuck out that bad, then your cars unibody needs straightening... UNLESS you can see the door only because the rear quarter is caved in.
Yes, with the right skills quarter panels can be cut from one car and put on another (I'd still recommend buying brand new full quarters in that case), but swapping quarters won't help entirely if the car is crooked. It all really depends on how hard she hit it.

Yes it's the rear quarter panel that's crushed in so bad making it able to see the inside of the door.....and I don't mean the plastic inside door paneling, I'm just refering to the metal. Well I was going about 35 and she was backing into the street from a parking spot so it was more of my motion doing the work instead of her 94 Nissan van. I didn't realize they would totally just put my thread in a different forum, but my car is a 90 Civic hatch.....to just give you a visual. I wish I could post pics but I have dial up and it posting one doesn't work. The car isn't pretty but I would like to just get this fixed so it's not a complete eye sore and it wont be the first thing you notice.
I appreciate the response, I was skeptical if anyone was actually going to in this body and paint forum. And yes I see what you're saying as far as the frame being bent, and I'm no specialist but it doesn't seem to me it got damaged that far...... I know it's nothing but words to go off of and no visuals, so it's hard to actually give me a acurrate procedure of how to go about it. But what would you or someone recommend?
