hello guys,, new to the site , im currently tryin to restore my car after a long 2 years just sitting in the open air while i was gone.
anyways, need help with this , im not trying to get another shell, so i NEED to fix this . thanks in advance. i am thinking about going to a junkyard and have them cut that whole section out of a shell and then get someone real good to cut and weld the new piece on my shell.(very hard in miami to find )

Hard to tell the extent of the damage with the paint still on there. That being said, it doesn't look that bad to me.

 

Hopefully its not that bad, on the search right now for someone to do this job.
Appreciate your comment, anything I can use to prevent or at least try to temporary stop this, would be very helpful. Thanks for your input.

A temporary stop would be spraying wd-40 on it. A better one would be removing and repainting the remainder with a decent urethane or moisture cured urethane (see por-15).
