RHD
Hey all im lookin to see if anyone has any insight on driving a right hand drive car in the states other than its wrong. Im not looking for info on how to do a swap or mailman jokes. I am looking to hear from people who have actually done it for a perspective! Thanks!
Ive driven my dads RHD Morgan +8 alot in Norway (we drive ont he same side as you guys do in the US), and after an hour or so you get used to it.
Expect to fumble a bit with the gearlever the first few trips. It takes a while to get your normal gear shifting routines out of the system if you know what i mean. I kinda used my right hand and slapped the door panels a few times before changing to the left hand to do the shift.
It's all a few laughs and then you get the hang of it quite quickly.
One issue could be overtaking people, you have less visibility. Normally i just lean over to the left a bit and i can see past the car in fornt of me.
If you never drove a RHD car before, i suggest a bit of training in a parking lot or something before you head out on the road. That could help too.
Hope that answers your questions a bit?

Grew up around RHD cars so they're actually more comfortable for me. But, no I haven't had the pleasure of driving or owning any RHD cars in the US.
As mentioned before, if you're planning on getting one, it's recommended that you practice in parking lots and private roads before hitting the streets and attempting to DD it.

I've owned two RHD cars here in the states. Making left hand turns at traffic lights is a PITA when there is traffic across from you. Also drive thu's and toll booths, drive up atm's, anything that happens through your window basicly sucks. If you switch between LHD and RHD cars often, it's easy to hit the wipers instead of the signals, seeing as tho they are on oppisite sides so you can signal while shifting. Basicly, it's just little pet peives apart from the left turn thing, wich can be dangerous.
