Post Up some VW bugs
I can talk Bugs. I used to want one badly in HS, and wouldn't mind having one today as a garage queen.
It's been a long time. I wanted a 68. But I recall 1967 was a "bad" year from Bugs because something was different with the engine. So like it was hard to find parts. Does anyone recall?
My friend actually had one just like this in College. Same color.

I have a bug of course....Some may remember it, others may not.

Drew, I can't think of any bad issues with the 67. I do know the 67 was a year that alot of "upgrading" to the platform took place.
From wikipedia:
VW Beetle 1967
1967 Volkswagen Beetle Engine(s) 1500 cc OHV H4, 40 kilowatts (54 hp) @ 4200 rpm, 105 N·m (77 ft·lbf) @ 2600,
bore 83 mm,
stroke 69 mm,
comp ratio 7.5:1
Transmission(s) 4-speed manual
Wheelbase 2400 mm (94.5 in)
Length 4079 mm (160.6 in)
Width 1539 mm (60.6 in)
The Volkswagen Beetle underwent significant changes for the 1967 model. While the car appeared similar to earlier models, much of the drivetrain was noticeably upgraded. Some of the changes to the Beetle included a bigger engine for the second year in a row. Horsepower had been increased to 37 kilowatts (50 hp) the previous year, and for 1967 it was increased even more, to 40 kilowatts (54 hp).
On US models, the output of the electrical generator was increased from 180 to 360 watts, and upgraded from a 6-volt to a 12-volt system. The clutch disc also increased in size, and changes were made to the flywheel, braking system, and rear axle. New standard equipment included two-speed windscreen wipers, reversing lights, a driver's armrest on the door, locking buttons on the doors, sealed-beam headlights, and a driver's side exterior mirror.
It weighed 840 kg (1852 lb), which was a typical weight for a European car at this time. Top speed was 130 km/h (81 mph).

With the specs you posted, I now recall. Thanks. 1967 is the only year VW used 1500cc engine. It was 1300cc in 1966 and 1600cc in 1968. So I should have used differenet words.
1967 parts may be harder to find because that engine (in Bug) was only used on one model year.
Bug guys can do anything and make it work with just a screwdriver. So I'm sure it was not "an issue."

Super clean ride!!
BRM's are the shizzy!!
When I started the build of my bug I was going to build an early "cal-look" inspired ride.....
Instead I said screw it and painted it flat paint/no chrome and rotas
edit: What size motor is that powered by?
