96 eclipse gs-t???
hey guys was looking to get one , my friend was guna hook me up with the one he has sitting in his yard. its mint gs-t spyder in red black top new clutch and everything only thing is it has like 160k. was woundering if its worth it for 2300. hes giving it to me what he got it for and what he put in. alot of the miles are highway from the prevouis owner going back and fourth to work. wondering if there good cars or any experiensce with them?
thanks alot
thanks alot
if you spend 2300 on a 96 dsm you better have at LEAST ANOTHER 2300 to put into it when things start breaking. And if you start upping the boost and modding it, it only gets worse. The reliability is utter crap trust me on that one. I've owned 4.
NO! I used to have a 97 GSX. It had 75k on the clock when the turbo blew. And why the hell would you give him the amount that he bought it for and what he put into it? I've never heard of anyone buying a car like that. If you really want it, I'd offer him maybe $1500.
One more thing, manual or automatic? My GSX was an auto and that tranny was garbage.

everyone is gonna tell you dsm this and that. stereotype is all it is. check out the car, it could be a good car. if it indeed is in good shape, motor wise as well as body and such, 2300 for a turbo convert is not bad
if you never owned one, don't chime in, just sayin,
i own a 98 gs-t right now and i've been through 3 14b turbos, rebuilt motor, whole bunch of other problems, right now i have a random misfiring code that can mean anything along the ignitions of the car can be at fault, so its an annoying thing i need to fix. i'll just keep it simple, its a high maintenance car. The only upside to owning one of these is, they're fast and fun and you become a very good mechanic because you learn so much from fixing all the problems. sure its one of the cheapest good looking turbo car you can get, but in the long run, you'll end up spending a lot of money
