Default 350z

I don't know if any of yall know, I used to have the 500whp red prelude till I sold it a while back.

Took last two years off to finish school. But I'm looking to get a 350z-

1. Is there a certain year that is better/more desirable than others (besides the fact of it being newer) ex- less problems?

2. I've been looking for some used 350's and most of the ones in my current price range have about 70-90k, how much is too much? How long can these motors typically last?

3. Any other tips would be appreciated

Thanks in advanced

The ideal purchase year is highly dependent on what your end goal is for the car… if you’re not looking to go forced induction I’d highly recommend you try to find a 2007 – 2008 HR 350Z, otherwise a clean 2003 – 2005 350Z would be your best bet.

These car are pretty reliable so I wouldn’t hesitate buying a high mileage car as long as its been maintained properly.

what IS your price range?

if you shop around....you'll definitely find a good deal. like B20sedan said, if you don't plan on going forced induction...try to aim for an 07-08.

whatever you do, try to avoid buying a base model. since that didn't come with LSD. anything above the base model has cruise control/HID's/LSD/vehicle dynamic control/TCS and all that good stuff.

I know that the 03's had more brake issues than any of the other years. The brakes were revised for 04 and then again I believe for 05 so I would say besides the obvious maybe simply rule out 03's and make sure its an 04 and up.

Brakes aren’t really an issue for the 2003 model 350Z, I’d only really avoid 2006 model year 350Z’s as they had the rev up engine that’s been notorious for oil consumption.

same advice you gave me in 2010. i took it and ran with it. passed on the silver 06 i was drooling over until this little piece of information was given to me. read up a bit more on it....and just didn't wanna take my chances.

OP, at 14k...you'll find a Z....not sure if you're gonna find one with low miles at that price...but you'll find one in decent shape if you're patient.

good luck shopping for your Z!
