Re: (bmoua)

If this allows for hi/low in the low beam headlight, does the high beam headlight become useless/secondary? I'm referring to cars such as sc300 and integras or is this for single headlights cars? Sorry kind of O/T.

would these be DOT approved?

I am working on the comparative analysis. Pricing will be set soon. Hate to keep you all waiting. Thanks for your interest.

Re: (LSEGHATCH)

Your High beam will become secondary if applicable. So 9006 will have the projector/ 9005 will still be your High beam Reflector, or Run 2 projectors.

This Projector is designed to house a DOT approved D-series HID bulb. However, it has been TUV approved but not DOT approved. Theoretically yes, Technically No.

I would definitely be interested in getting a set for my EJ1 when available.

Is there a ballpark ETA on when to expect these for purchase?

I run Hella bi-xenon projectors in my Integra. When I click on the high beams I have both the projector high beam pattern and the stock 9005 high beams. Brightness. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Doubtful .. but then again... you get what you pay for. This is obviously designed to retrofit. The OEMs are made for whatever they are on. Think how much easier a fit would be with something like this. OEMs are great... but hard to fit in comparison to these. What you will spend in buying of the set of these, will save you cash in the long run. Plus you have a better piece from what I can tell

you are comparing OEM to aftermarket. You think the OEM manufacturer who spent alot of money and time on HID research is a waste of time compared to something thats nothing close to OEM specs? Not to diss or anything. For the amt for what its worth, I can buy OEM projectors and just retrofit them in my car. Its no big deal. Its just more fabrication involved.

Re: (hmtcrxsir)

yeah my point exactly... some people do not care to go that far down the rabbit hole. I have seen some retros that were great from the outside... when I see how it was done there is no way I would do anything like that. That being said, again.. many are done right. I speak for myself when I say I see value in something that makes the install go better. I spent years without the Honda pulley tool... when I got it it was like sex... "I could have had this the entire time? WTF was I thinking?" But again.. most people get by just fine without it.

And as for quality between OEM and aftermarket?... maybe I am comparing apples and oranges... but they speak for themselves. Don't get me wrong... I am sure would could sit here and talk all day about other optics that would produce a better pattern. But I like what I see.

is that a 6K in the pattern pics?

Re: (badboyr66)

You say it'll use D-series bulbs (I take that to be D2R/S/C), but from the base it looks like they'd need to be knotched to work, so is that mean you'd still be the only supplier of the specialized bulbs?

DrivenMC 06-11-2008 10:08 AM

Re: (badboyr66)

Yes, 6k https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
