question about eg side markers

when turning on your lights at night are the side markers suppose to turn on to, or are they only to turn on when you push the turn signal.

They only flash with the turn signals or hazard lights.

you can do it any way you want. but the way they have it in Europe and japan they have it only as signals and not on all the time. it looks weird on all the time.
