Default hid question...

i've got a 2000 ek..and i want to install hid's. i've installed them in my fully built ef before but they were super bright because they were the wrong ones and i had to dremel some of the bulb's plastic to get it to fit. it was a diff shape. so yea, i don't want something that bright and i don't have a lot of time/money to do a retrofit. if i bought ebay projectors...could i just install hid's into them and have the same effect as doing a retrofit? i made sure to find the lights without the lines on the cover because i heard that they distort the light. any help/input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

In a simple form, uh no...ebay projectors are low quality at best in most cases and they are strictly designed for halogen capsules so their optics are not properly designed for HID capsules.
