You didn't specify the year and model vehicle.
However, on many Hondas that came with a glove box light, the glove box light itself has no switch for when the glove box is open/closed. It is just a wired receptacle with a bulb. When your turned on the headlight switch, power is supplied to the glove box light along with other interior and exterior lights.
