Blue headlights are about as useful as a $2 flashlight strapped to your hood. The light they put out is horrible, and in the rain it's even worse.
Trust me, I had ricer blue headlights in my old car. When it rained at night it was like my headlights weren't even turned on.

I actually have blue headlight bulbs right now. The light output is just fine. I live in town and I also have bright yellow fog light bulbs (clear housing).
If I still lived out in the sticks I wouldn't use them.
I decided to pick them up locally after I noticed them for sale with a warranty. I figured, why not? So when a bulb blew about a month later I went and picked them up. I can't remember the brand off hand and they are not straight up blue. The high beams are fairly close to white.
