~50W to 80W draw?
Hey there guys! I was looking at some bulbs from a website. I found some bulbs that draws 80W and emits 150W of light.
I know that stock bulbs are ~50-52 ish Watts. How do I achieve that 80W draw safely? Or just impossible?

There is a wiring kit from (I think) APC that modifies your existing harness to allow for the higher current draw without melting the **** out of your plugs. I'm sure that there are probably some other manufacturers that make one similar for "off-road" vehicles. Don't know where to tell you to start looking, but you might be able to search and find it for yourself.
Are you talking about those wiring harness? Like http://bansheeautotuninonlines...82681 that? But how about the draw? 50W-80W is pretty huge... Wont blow out the fuse?
Thanks for replying. I'm a noob at lighting.

The best thing to do would be to create your own wiring harness using heavier gauge wiring and a relay, similar to what is described here: http://www.danielsternlighting....html
O Wow... I never knew this could be so complicated when upgrading to a higher watts. Makes me think twice. Anyways thanks padawan for that link. That's helpful for people upgrading. I'm going to go HID conversion thens. For now, some regular 51W PIAA's......

For the money, you can get bulbs that perform better than the PIAAs. What bulb size are you shopping for (or rather, what car are you upgrading)?

There is no such thing as "emitting such-n-such watts of light". Watts is not a measure of light output.
Higher wattage halogen bulbs is a bad idea. They generate MUCH more heat and will probably melt or deform plastic parts, even if you have upgraded harnesses that can handle the current.
Best bet would be to get some HIR bulbs.
