Hey h-t I have a 02 ep3 it has a k20a3 in it, I just started noticing its using oil, there r no leaks nowhere, nor is there any smoke what so ever blowing out. Idk what's going on with it and it feels like I'm loosing a little power also. Anyone no what this could b? I'm thinking of rebuilding it, what's the cost to rebuild it and some good web sights I can order a rebuild kit from pls leave info thanks

 

have you checked to see if oil is mixing with coolant? could be a head gasket.

 

sounds like you have cam galling... I had that issue with mine also. Instead of doing a rebuild I would do a swap instead!

I'm not sure how much the swap would bring you back... it really depends how much you pay for the k20a2... to do the install I would say around 750$ from what we pay around here anyways.

The rebuild will always be cheaper but it's the perfect time to upgrade!

It also depend what your plans are with the car... I would be able to give you my personal suggestion once you let me know!

Well my plans is I would like to make it a track car honestly, I mean anyone can run straight down a track lol but I also want something when were I get down on it I want it to react fast, it's a dd for now but Idk if I wanna do boost r all motor! But first I gotta figure out a swap r something

 

K24 with a 5.0 Fd would be interesting.

 

mabe it is just the valve stems...

if the oil leak is not more than 1 litre per month, leave it as it is....
