Default New to hondas

So I've owned different cars from eg's to Toyota ae86s , s13, and always owned dsms including evos. How I ended up today a daily civic sedan 99 I have no idea. Lol so I'm a bit of a track junky currently own a 99 eclipse Spyder gst that I use for the track. Now my plans are to continue to daily the civic sedan but use it for road racing as well as a secondary car as back up when my Spyder is down. Pretty darn new to the Honda world great to see that vtec club does time attack events which is why I plan on upgrading the little civic up. Lol

Welcome to the Honda world. I am willing to help educate you on the Honda performance side and I am sure plenty of people will help as well. There are so many combinations of things you can do from heads that will fit on different bottom ends, to different intake set-ups and new manifold combos that you will end up seeing people start to argue about. For example, I drive a 1999 Honda Civic EX Coupe with a B20B swap with a GSR LSD Tranny. I love my set-up. Most people will say, throw a vtec head on there or why didn't you go with a b18 instead because its sleeves are thicker? So i can answer some of your questions for sure but just be prepared for a million different answers. It's always good to do your own research because in the end, it's all going to be based on personal preference. People live by VTEC and will not drive a non-VTEC car. Mine is non-VTEC and will be boosted soon. You will watch people complain about the money I am spending just to keep it non-VTEC. Like I said, it's all personal preference. But if you have any questions, let me know. I am happy to help where I can. I am from Virginia by the way, where are you from?

Right on thank you for the welcoming. I'm from California, Los Angeles area. Currently have an 00' integra that has been hit pretty hard in the quarter panel, a d16z6 complete swap under 60k miles sitting in the garage as well from a wrecked eg si. The bracket side is broken and thread is messed up, reason why I haven't used it. Have a few options not sure what to take yet. In addition tomorrow probably picking up a b16a2 complete off guy i met at the track recently for a really good price. Right now the honest route is wanting to keep the sedan and partout the integra. I've heard the wheel base is better off a sedan then coupe? Looked up articles but some say different as you mentioned. Lol I've been reading articles from forums before signing up, a butt load of options I wasn't aware were possible in the Honda community! Only reason I never really got involved in the Honda community were engines are expensive for 200whp or less and the theft issue🤦*♂️ But really like this sedan civic and want to make a simple swap yet still add some ponies from the d16y7 it has.

Plan is is to stay N/A, had purchased a k24 a while back but the parts for the swap cost more then the actual engine lol so I sold the engine and landed were I am now. B-series seems easier and yet still less expensive. Maybe one day go k for n/a but my budget ain't there lol
