Hows it going guys, this is my first post and my first project car. I drove 3 hours away to pick it up and when i got there the seller let meknow it had idle issues but my god it was so much worse i thought it couldnt make it. I almost panicked hut he told me he would drive it like that to work which was a hour away. The oil was a lil dirty the coolant was really low and it idled like ****. a alot of othr problems but i loved her. so i got her and filled up the coolant and sure enough she made the 3 hour drive.



Sorry to type all that but to get to the point Im having issues with third gear staying in gear itll just pop out. Im thinking its the clutch but the previous owner said it may just need adjustment🤔. But also sometimes it wont go over 2k rpms ill have to switch gears in order to get it going or damn near floor it and force it to go over and it will. The problem is the car was originally auto converted to manual so im not sure if this changes anything. Any help is appreciated ive been waiting so long to finally join this community and it’s all surreal and im still taking everything in.

 

Sounds like you purchased a real peach. Popping out of 3rd gear only suggests that the transmission is damaged internally: If the problem was clutch related, you would have issue in all gears. Not revving over 2K RPM is another rabbit hole... check your engine codes first and share them here. Fill and bleed your coolant system. What engine management system do you have ? Has the car been tuned ? From stock, what is different about the engine ?
