Hondas LOL
New here and new to the Hondas but have gathered some knowledge over the last two years. I am stuck at this very moment thoe with my 97 hx honda civic coupe. It has a D16y8 engine but is running the p2e ecu with iacv code and isn't running vtec. I have bought two for sure good p2p ecu's for the D16y8 vtec engine that I have but when I have the p2p ecu plugged in, the car cranks but revs really high and the exhaust manifold started glowing red... I unplugged the p2p ecu and plugged in the p2e ecu and the car started and ran just fine... block is stamped D16Y8 for sure and the head definitely has vtec solenoid with harness plug ins. I'm confused can anybody help
I think figured it out in case anyone was having the same issue. I plugged in the p2p ecu and held battery cables together for a minute or so and hooked everything back up and the car ran phenomenal!! So far it's still running good hopefully no new surprises.
