Default Hello from Minneasota

Hi guys and girls. My name is Arran and I currently live in MN, USA. Originally from London, England. I've had a couple of Japanese cars in the past. A 250bhp Toyota Celica GT4 and a 355bhp Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5. Now I find myself with a little honda civic. Hope to talk to a lot of you soon.

I moved here to be with my wife and child after a long and grueling immigration process. Here to stay now and enjoy the wonders of fatherhood.

Ah that sounds glorious, thank you for sharing it. I had a friend move from Michigan to Minnesota a few years back. He enjoys it there, much much much better than anything in Texas.

I've never been to Texas and would one day love to visit I've heard the food is incredible if you like American cuisine which I am guilty of liking too often. At least, in Houston, you don't have the winters we get here it's 30 below and F'ing cold lol

Ah the food is pretty decent. The Mexican is marvelous. I like going to a place off NASA parkway called Mamacita's. The BBQ pits are nice too. However I do notice a lack of other cultural foods here such as middle eastern food. They had great places in Michigan for middle eastern food.

So long as you don't mind getting your car broken into, being robbed at gun point, and potential kidnappings, its mostly okay. You just need to watch your back here, because I'm certain somebody else is.

Also expect anyone, with any car, to want to drag race you, Fast and Furious style.

Houston doesn't get much of a winter, it might be 40's for a day or so. You will know because if it hits 40 degrees, it will be the top new story. It will be near pandimonium and grand hysteria. People will literally dress their plants in coats to try to ... *keep them warm*. Seriously, people dress up their bushes and flowers if its cold. That or put a tarp over them, because its 40's. People will run screaming from their car into buildings yelling

"GOOD LAWD ITS COLD! RUN PEOPLE! RUUUUUUUUNN OOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMGGGGGGG LAWD HAVE MERCY ON US!"

No.. I'm not kidding. Its the first thing I saw somebody say when I got out of the airport on xmas day when it was 60 degrees.

1cm of snow caused the entire city to shutdown. 300 accidents were reported in 5 minutes.

Best thing to do here is eat, then move on.

What part of MN? I just moved up to ND. I'll be doing an intro post here soon, but thought I'd read some of the intros and saw a few people from this part of the country.

No Ebola in Minnesota? Not like Texas. Ebola comes in 3 different flavors.

Nope. The media here are up in arms about "are hospitals ready for Ebola" (quote from KARE11 news). Talk about the most stupid topic in history. The world isn't ready for Ebola not ONE person on earth has an idea of how to stop it.
