Default 95 eg hatch

Well after attempting to make an account I realized I made one 5 years ago when I was looking at purchasing my first hatch! After logging into the account after 5 years of browsing not knowing I had it I decided introductions are in order :D Anyways im a state certified mechanic in Brakes, Suspension, Electrical, and engine tuneup-performance. Ive been wrenching on cars since I was 13 years old and bicycles long before that. Despite having a family heavily dominated my muscle car enthusiasts I have long since loved the look and styling of the civic, as well as its somewhat modern tune-ability. I looked at many civics over the years and finally after a long wait in my rust dominated state I located a 95 civic dx stick with 100k on it and zero rust to be had. Upon further inspection of the car I found its unibody to be straight, and it to be in completely original condition. Literally it even had the factory radio. After 2 days of negotiating I bought the car for a steal at $800.00. So far ive fabbed up a front license plate bracket and installed it, Replaced the bushings, upper and lower balljoints, and tie rods in the front end. Replaced the front rotors and pads and rebuilt the calipers, replaced the drums, turned them (long story) and replaced the wheel cylinders, a brake line, and the shoes/hardware. Ive also installed an aftermarket headunit, 4 speakers, a monoblock and a 12 inch sub. Other mods include "sporty seat covers, shift ****, and pedals" I got on clearence from the auto parts store I work at and figured why not. Ive also installed a tachometer. As far as engine and trans maintence goes, I bled the clutch out with a quart of dot 3 brake fluid, replaced the mtf with honda oem fluid, Changed the oil, the pcv valve, air filter, distributer, wires, and plugs. I cleaned the iacv to eliminate a sporadic idle condition and flushed the coolant. I also recharged the factory a/c. Other than these basic mods the car is sitting on new performance tires and remains relatively stock. It is a d15b7 stick car with manual steering, factory air and radio.

Plans for the future:
Some period specific aluminum wheels w/ locking lug nuts and dot slicks up front. I plan on retaining the 13 inch wheel size. The brakes will be staying the same for awhile but I may consider an acura disc conversion in the rear at a later date.

I plan on installing blox drag coilovers, doing some basic suspension upgrades in the process, and also doing a mini me head swap with a d16z6 head and y8 head gasket. Long term I plan on building a turbo kit, and installing/tuning it for a base low level of boost depending on turbo because I am aware of the limitations of the rods in the b7. After the turbo, head, bolt ons, and odds and ends are done I plan on building a z6 block and swapping everything over to get more power out of the car. When I do the motor ill be swapping the clutch, flywheel, and possibily ripping the tranny apart for an lsd install. Obviously this will take awhile as I have bills to pay and only make a 36k a year income ;D

Hopefully youll have me here at honda-tech and I would hope to be able to help anybody in any way I can.

Also a pic of my other build, still a work in progress
