tsx k24 question (searched)
My question is this that I really was excited about buying my tsx motor, but was later told that the motor is not the 3 lobe cam design as it is the same as the k in the si in terms of the style of vtec it has ( 2 lobe vtec). All I ever hear about the k24 is that the heads are the same but no one ever has talked about what cam design, specs of the cams it has. As I would like to know how true this is as I have never tooken apart a tsx motor and only tooken apart a type s head in a garage to change out for bigger cams.
Thanks again for the help. P.S. if you dont know the answer just write you would like to know aswell. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif |

Re: tsx k24 question (allmtrwhore2)
from what i understand is that the tsx head is very similar to the rsx type s head as to where it has vtec on both cams as oppose to the civic si and base rsx which only have vtec on the intake cam i believe. the other models of k24 such as the element, accord, crv dont have the vtec on both cams which is where you may be getting confused. i hope this somewhat helps. someone else might be more elaborate

Re: tsx k24 question (tyflip2)
Yeah I have "heard" that the heads are the same design. As I can't tell by looking at the code number on the heads I dont know what I would be looking for. Guys from hondata have said that they " are" Which I dont contest hondata's knowledge just wanted to see if anyone else had experience with this.
thanks https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |

you'll probably have to buy a new throttle body and ecu, as the tsx has the drive by throttle with no cable unless you know how to make it work an another car.....
