Default Same year engine?!?!?!?!

Hi.
I have a 99 civic, and I'm trying to get a b18c1.
All of the posts I see say that I need to get a same year engine.
But everywhere I call, they do not have any 99 b18c1.
Is it really that bad, or too hard to install an earlier year engine?
Even tho its OBDII? Some one please help!!!
Thanks in advance!

Paul

in most places it's ILLEGAL to install a motor that is older than your car. that's doesn't stop a lot of people though. just keeping looking, a 99 or 00 GSR motor will surface for ya.

you can use any 96 and up engine...and use your stock harness. THATS IT! As long as you stay obd2...there is no problem with the swap or the law.

yeah.. do what works...its not likely u would get busted for being obd1 anyway... everyone i know with a swap has changed the obd status on there car.. and the 99 civic is obd2.2 anyway.. so going to obd2. would still be illegal.. so just go obd1. u will be much happier this way, trust me.

some places its not legal but you can still do it cause most of the time us builders make the engine not legal by adding some parts to the motor so what difference does it make
