Are OBD1 and OBD2 distributors internal's the same? help!!?

Are OBD1 and OBD2 distributors internal's the same? help!!?

I know the clips are different (obd1 - 2clips, obd2 - 1 clip) however I'm wondering it I can splice the wires and change the clips? All the wires appear to be the same. Would this work or are the internals different?

Just de pin the plugs it will work.

you can cut the old clips off and sauder the ones you want on
