o2 sensor mistake!?
I have the b16a1 in my 91 crx and purchased a 4-2-1 dc header. the one o2 sensor bung for the header was by the cat like its supposed to be for usdm. however, i saw the 2 o2 sensors for the b16 go up towards the top when i received the engine and original headers. so i basically eyed up where the holes were and marked them on the dc 4-2-1 and got bungs welded into it and put the o2 sensors there. was this a big mistake? i have an a/f gauge too but i'm thinking it might not be accurate and tricking the computer b/c of what i did to the header and o2 sensors. what do you think?
?

Samething I did back in 1997 on my LS/VTEC CRX (and the smog ref didn't even care). With the B16 ECU, it needs to have the O2 sensor hot in order to get a good reading. With the O2 sensor all the way down next to the cat, the car would run like **** because the ECU wasn't getting the right signal from the O2 sensor. Like you did, I welded 2 nuts to the primaries and drilled out the hole (and spray some high temp silver paint to match the header and to keep it from rusting) and used 2 single wire O2 sensors there and the ECU never had a problem. On the O2 bung on the downpipe, you can either just plug it up with a bolt or like I did, hooked that O2 sensor up to a cheap A/F gauge.... not the most accurate thing but still somewhat effective.
