Default NOOB question!

This is completely a noob question. I recently purchased a jdm engine, and somebody told me that I should be careful because some of my parts could be more expensive. So he of course made me nervous and now I'm doubting what I thought I knew. I'm going to be replacing the timing belt and various other belts when I make the swap. My question is can't I just use the same GSR belts for the USDM engines. Also are there any differences in parts between the USDM and JDM GSR engines, besides the pistons.

Sorry for the lame *** questions, but feeling kind of out of it today. Thanks!!

Same engines except for the pistons. All your replacement parts come from B18C1's.
