Default Need help on a decision

I am wanting to either build a CRX or a 92-95 hatch. I do not own the car nor the motor yet but I am trying to determine which would be the best and easiest to do. I was thinking an H22 into either one but I don't know whether it would be more difficult in a CRX or the hatch. Also I found a teg with a b18c1 for like 600 bucks and I was thinking of taking it and putting it in the CRX or the hatch. I guess that I am a little more partial to the hatch but the CRX is a little lighter. These cars will be gutted other than the front seats. I am just wanting a fun little car to drag with. I currently have a 96 civic that I am putting a turbo on but I am using it for a daily driver so any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

James

you found a teg with a b18c in it for 600 bucks? I'd buy it in a heartbeat, aslong as the motor works. if your doing the H22, it would be easier to put it in the hatch. but if you use the b18c, I'd put it in the crx. I have a CRX and a 95 hatch, I would never give up my CRX.

The EG is easier to swap simply because the motor will drop right in with the stock Integra mounts whereas the CRX will require a mount kit. The wiring is almost all plug and play in an EG as well if you use the Integra or Civic Si/EX/VX VTEC engine harness. If you get an EG hatch, buying a 92 VX or CX will rival the weight of most CRX's.

So pretty much the b18c will go better in the hatch but it will be similarly difficult to put the H22 in both. I just found an SI CRX shell for 75 bucks and a running HF for 100 that I am probably going to pick up so in doing the CRX should it matter which motor that I get as far as instillation. If I do the H22 I will more than likely put the entire wiring harness in the CRX or is that necessary. I guess what I am asking do you know of any good write ups on putting an H22 and a b18c in a CRX? And which one do you think would be faster and more enjoyable to drive. Thanks

An H22 into a CRX is a lot more work than putting it into an EG hatch. The only thing different about putting an H22 into an EG hatch as opposed to a B18C is using an aftermarket mount kit, installing the shifter + cables then the proper axle combo. There aren't any company's offering a mount kit for the H22 into an EF chassis yet that I'm aware of so basically it would be a custom install. There are a few people on here that have them, doesn't look too difficult but IMO I would stick with a B series if you are using the CRX.
