Need help: cel 23
Cel 23
Knock sensor circuit - Open or short in Knock sensor circuit, defective Knock sensor circuit
I just changed my spark plugs, and I got this CEL... any info? I gapped them to 1.1mm on my 93 jdm h22a. I used NGK v-power copper spark plugs
Any help would be great... thanks!

Make sure the knock sensor is not broken and plugged in.
It's located on the back of your motor near the cylinder head (just above the oil filter).
HTH.

I just got a new knock sensor when I did the swap.
I think I might have fixed the problem...
My solution:
I checked the plug gap that I took out (I got the plugs pre-gapped from honda), and it was just over .035 in... I asked what the plug gap should be earlier today, and someone said 1.1mm... so I set it at that, put in my plugs and had this issue... so I checked the mm/inch conversion, and 1.1 is about .045, so I re-gapped the plugs to .038, and the problem seems to have went away.
My reasoning:
Because of all the detonation, the knock sensor wasn't able to retard the timing enough, so it went into limp mode and threw the cel.

actually that didn't fix it
I put the stock plugs back in, and it is still doing it, so I guess it isn't the spark plugs. I will check my knock sensor and make sure the wires and everything are ok.
