lsvtec help
95 ls block with 95 gsr head. i plan to buy the golden eagle conversion kit. using the sandwich adapter and whatnot. but i was reading a tutorial on b20vtec and it says this
Now, we need to begin with the head installation.
"Make sure you have already installed the oil galley plug into the head and that it sits flush, this is imperative to redirect the oil flow via the external oil lines to activate vtec. Alot of people complain about oil leaks with lsvtec setups. You ask them if they installed this plug and they ask you "what is that"?.....just turn around and walk away."
im confused why this needs to be done and the instructions doesnt say to do so? im lost any help techs?

There is an original oil passage in the head that needs plugged (supplied plug and instructions with golden eagle kit) since your block doesn't have the same oil passage. An external oil line gets run off the head and down to the sandwich plate so that you still get vtec.
but what was the vtec dowel pins for though? does that allow normal oil passage into the head also?why cant i leave the regular ls dowel pins? thanks sorry threw the instruction away by accident.
You would have to drill the head to fit the stock dowel pins and the dowel pins that come with the kit are tapered to fit into the head since its a smaller size in the head than in your block.
