Default jdm motors

how can u tell its jdm besides the block number... cuz i kno it says b18c for jdm... but also do the valve covers differ... likk the VTEC is bigger than the dohc lettering... also what about at the lower part of the valve cover... does it jus say honda or does it says honda co. ??? also will it pass smog legally or do i hav to makk adjustments...

one big clue wire harness is backwards ecu plugs are on the driver side ... pretty easy to point
