Default i have a question on doing ls vtec

I have a 00 civic si, I plan on purchasing a ls bottom end and putting arp bolts and studs in! And all upgraded gaskets and seals, swapping the rods and pistons with gsr rods and pistons ( already have them) , what is the best way to go and would it be worth it in the long run?? I'm wanting to go all motor and be reliable, Ohh and what cams should I go with and what opinions do people have on doing this build?

are you using a gsr or ls crank? the rods have to match the crank.

Gsr rods, pistons, crank will be nice with ctr/itr cams...while your doing all the gaskets, seals, and BEARINGS you should upgrade the oil pump as well.

same thing i was thinking when i read his post.
just like kyden said your crank has to match your rods.

if your going all motor you shouls just stick with the
ls crank
ls rods with arp bolts
depending on the compression you want you can go with any b-series pistons. if you want some decent power go with the b16 pistons.
dont forget to upgrade your oil pump to a gsr/itr pump if your looking for a reliable motor.

If you used Gsr crank pistons and rods it's pretty much a Gsr and not an lsvtec
The whole purpose of lsvtec is the longer stroke and more torque, so you will make less torque forsure if you don't use the ls rods and crank
I would use ls rods, ls crank, USDM pr3 pistons out of a b16
Then your comp will be 11.92 to 1 which would be a fun ll motor car
If you use all Gsr parts but a b16 head your c/r will be 10.32 to 1
So think about all that before you do your build
And all obd2 b series oil pumps are the same
Unless they have been ported or something
I have built three lsvtecs and 2 b20vtecs
B20vtecs are the quickest out of the two
Keep the ls internals
