I know as Im sure everyone else knows imports are hot.Everyone turns your head when you drive by and when you park people ask you about your car.The question I have is I have a Prestige alarm on my car and it has still been boken into 2 times in 6 months.I am scared to death someone one day is going to steal the whole car for the rims the motor whatever else they want.

1)my friend has a feature on his car where you have to turn the key to the on position it beeps a couple seconds later letting you know you can start it.We went to a mechanics and they couldnt even get it started which makes me think its a good thing to have if people cant figure it out.it came on his car when he bought it does anyone know what this is or where I can get one???

2)If anyone else has any tips on things that have worked for them ...ex.different alarm,the club etc.

kinda shitty all this has to be done just to protect what you bought rightfully with you hard earned money HUH?

 

put altezza's and stickers on your car. that will keep people away

 

Clifford makes stuff like that, altho i dont know much about it.
High end stereo stores (the specialist, here in town) should be able to give you alot of information.

for a cheap peace of mind, you can wire in a kill switch for the fuel pump. you just go to radio shack, but some wire and a push button on/off switch, cut your ignition wire, wire in the switch and hide it somwhere.
when parking at a mall or somthing, simply hit the switch and it wont start.
i have one in my car. but my car looks stock

i'd use an autolock , and ecu kill switch

 

this might sound stupid but i just change the sensor setting on the vafc till the car wont start. only i remeber that i changed them so they would have to sit there and change them before it would start.

 

Use a channel on your alarm to energyze a relay to cut on your fuel pump...the only draw back is if your key fob goes dead....

 

Autolock

 

autolock i jacked my own car with it just to see how full proof it was... start the car in first gear to get it goign then shft with no clutch.

 

Get two autolocks one on the brake and one one clutch Then get one or moe cut off switches ...... and a compustar alarm is pretty good to

i donest matter what you put for security other then a lowjack or a lowjack type of system. they can still disable the alarm by cutting/disconnect the battery and hooking a chain to your tow hooks and drag your car away if they dont have a trailer...

and dont tell me you never thought you've never thought of what are the possiblitys a thief could do to get your car. if you havnt been, then start thinking, you could be the next lowjack designer.

 

one of my friends doesn't even lock his doors because last time his car was broken ino they fucked up his door locks.. and he knows that if they want it they're gonna get it.. and instead of them breaking his locks or his windows .. he lets them in.

You can't win.. and that's the worst thing in the world. I'd rather get beaten up than my car stolen

you can put a lojack, high jack, even a honda jack on your car.... it will still get taken if the thief wants it bad enough.

might as well not even bother with security.. maybe just an alarm to lock doors or so.

 

I appreciate everyones reply and there are some good tips here that help me out.the reply saying that if a criminal wants it he'll get it is true to an extent no one is going to sit there with an alarm going off and try to screw with why the car wont start. Thell try it once real quick and than run hopefully .Either way every little bit helps

 

yeah.. and if the car won't start and they still want it... they will come back with a tow truck. or follow you around with a gun.

 

i would take my driver seat out so he would have a uncomfortable ride home

 

when a car alarm goes off the only thing going through my head is:::lease just stop:::: and I bet most people think the same thing. other than the owner, no one cares, they just want it to stop. Thats why you need more than a security system and get creative about it, but don't tell people.
