HF Trans replacement
Here's the story, I bought a 90' CRX Si for $1100 planning on swapping in a ZC engine. At the same time I became aware of someone at my work who had a 90' CRX HF sitting in their driveway for the last year that needed some trans work. I went ahead and bought the CRX Si and am loving it. My friend is buying the HF for $500 with plans of taking my engine when I swap. If he bought an Si Trans right now would it work fine with the HF's motor? I know it will work for us further down the road when we swap in the Si. Also are there any weird things we need to know about when swapping a HF to an SI, it's not documented that much compared to all the stuff on the ZC swap. Thanks
the hf trans is has long gearing swapping a si trans has shorter gearing. I would not reccomend doing this try to trade someone for a hf trans. When i had my crx with a hf trans going 70 on 5th gear it was at 4500 rpm and the redline is 5500.
It a great for city driving i was doing a lot of it with the trans and got about 35-40mpg on city but horriable freeway about 25-30. Better off to get a dx, hf trans.
P.S it accelrated through the gaers fast but it didnt go anywhere
