Default H22A into EG.

Is this swap really worth chopping up your car? I read the thread on this swap and it seems cool n **** but the whole cutting thing and welding kinda kills it. Im asking for advice i have a 92 CX and a 90 CRX Si. Im planning on swapping out the D15B in the CX for a B20/Vtec and daily driving that but i also wanted to get a h22 in one of these because from what i heard these have awesome Hp and Tq numbers. The CRX is in shambles, its missing a fender needs a paint job and the interior has been riced-out. I was thinking since the rex is already all fucked up, should i drop the h22 into the rex and make it my track car? Any thoughts?

rex+h22=12s

Cutting and welding?
you have to cut a bigger hole for the shifter, and weld a exhaust if you so it your self. but thats it.
i have a h22, and its a blast. its worth it 4SURE

Def worth It. I have one in a 92 hatchback. With I/H/E 13.8's all day...The install isnt that bad either. Hardest part is the axle issue, once you get that done, with nice ones, you'll be totally set. Best swap ever!!!

And i like my car slammed, will this cause axles to give out?

h22 is only a little heavier then the B's and a couple posts I have read said it is better then any B on track even the c5.

Despite what everyone says about the weight issue, the H-series sits further back against the firewall, so it sort of levels the weight out a bit. I went ahead and got JIC FLT-A2 suspension setup and have never had a problem with understeer. Just get a nice suspension and you will be fine

The H22a swap is probably one of the most UNDERrated swaps. I have a type s h22a in my 93 Cx Built with internals and i'LL be the first to tell you that it is worth it, IF YOU DO IT RIGHT. You can't cut corners with a motor that has that much power/torque potential. I love it. A nice sleeper exhaust system is all you need. I daily drive mine with no problems! Nice availible power all the time, no more downshifting to pass cars. hhaha

So this is basically what i got from this:
EG+H22= No fab, able to put B, or D later. (Not that i would want to )
EF+H22= Fabrication

Right or did i confuse myself? Also, do i really need those custom mounts? Thanks p00n for the info

Definitely not too heavy. I autocross my H22 hatch with azenis almost every weekend and am 2-3 seconds away from track miatas on slicks.

You can do B or D later. You definitely won't be dissapointed with the H. I love 'em. Only better than an H is K.

Personally, if I were to re-do the H swap, I would go H2B.

I've had my H for 4 years now, no issues with my H tranny at all. I don't mind 'em. It's just the gearing in B series that makes it better IMO.

But a lot of people have been having problems with their H trannies.

</TD></TR></TABLE> You do have to cut the shifter tunnel for the shifter box in the eg. But the best of both worlds would be the h2b. There is a guy on here skunked &lt;--- look his name up...he has an h2b integra and is running 12's on stock bottom end with cams and header. A friend of mine just bought a crx we are going to h2b that since I was going to do this to my eg but have now gone the k series route.

you have to cut very little in the EG for the shifter cables correct. I am also doing an H22A swap into an EG but this is going to be a pretty big turbo set up. Not a big fan of the H-B from what I have been reading, think I am going to stick with the H Series Trannie

To each there own with every setup out there thats why all of the cars are unique. I would personally do h2b if I ever had to do it over again. And with a big turbo setup on the h/f series trans and not so good axle angles...id imagine your gonna be going through trans's left and right as well as axles.

I've got tein super flex and i have no problems with understeer, of course i have a cx which needs SWAY BARS ASAP. Always remember the #1 Rule. If you have a question about an H22, ask someone with an H22. Just about every single person on earth that doesn't have an Hseries will yap about being heavy and blah blah. The K weighs just as much, if not more... So it's really what your goals are. A bone stock H22 with bolt on's is more than enough to satisfy someone who has been driving a D series for 4 years!!

Had mine in since Dec 2003, and it's a blast to drive. you will NOT be dissappointed with this swap. got mine in a 92 cx, eibach sportlines, kyb 4-ways. handles pretty nice.

We're planning to do this swap (h22eg) too. What engine harness do we use, 92-96 prelude?? is there a thread out there for this swap! Not to steal thread but I'm noob for this swap.
