Default H22 redline

I am having a spoon chip installed in the JDM P13. I was wondering how high I can safely rev the engine. The redline is 7200, removed to 8500.

7200

It's not a b16.

Getting a chip on a stock motor in no way changes how high you can rev it 'safely'

7500 is safe... but your gonna stop making power around 6800-7000 anyway.

Also the JDM p13 doesn't have a rev limiter only a speed limiter<127mph>, or if it does have a rev limiter it's higher then 8k cause i haven't ever hit it but i have hit my 8k limit on my MSD a few times by accident

remember that above 7500 the oil pump in the h2 is week and you will starve the motor of oil if you hold it above 7500 for long witha stock pump

I was hoping valve springs and retainers would let me rev higher, but I need an oil pump too. Didn't know they sold larger ones or do they. Just seen oil coolers.

I shift my jdm H22 at 7400 rpm (with the aid of a auto meter shift light). You gotta remember that the stock tach is off my at least 200 rpm. It usually reads 200 rpm more than what youre acutally at. I dont really watch my tach all that much but rather look at the vafc. Take a look in anyones car with ethier and aftermarket tach or a vafc and compare that to what the factory tach reads. Anyways i wouldnt rev the h22 past 7500 if its stock.

redline is 7400. Fuel cut is at 7700

Does someone have a link to these upgraded oil pumps?

well i have a JDM P13 and it cuts out @ 7500RPM and has a speed limter @ around 120MPH.
so i would say some JDm P13's do have a revlimter.
but i still agree that anything over 7500-7800 is just wasting your time. unless of course you have the cams and fuel to give you power over 7200RPM
