H series swap with H series transmission
I have a H22a2 and a H series Transmission.
I want to swap into my 2001 crv.
I am NOT doing a h2b adapter plate.
I have a 2001 crv that is fwd auto that the engine lost a valve. I want to swap it to manual, don't care if it is awd or fwd. I happen to have a h22, full wiring harness for a 92 prelude, ecu and a manual transmission to swap in. I want know if I need to swap axles or anything else that will I may come with across.
I am aware I need to do a manual dash swap.
What I can't find is if the b series CV will work with the h series transmission, what I need to do for engine mounts.
Everything I find is for a the h2b swap. So the transmission side of things I am at a lost for.

Wiring wise you’ll probably want to use the crv harness and modify it to fit the h series by cutting and extending the charging harness, changing over dizzy and injector plugs and a obd2 to obd1 jumper for the Ecu. As far as axles I would assume youd do it just like h swapping a civic and use the h axles. Making it fwd is definitely the way to go in my opinion for simplicity’s sake plus you’ll be able to drop some pounds and parasitic loss.
also on another side note, allot of h swapped civics bind due to axles being a bit too long for them, that shouldn’t be a problem in the crv though.

How hard is it to add the VTEC wiring to a harness. I have the knowledge and the tools to do it correctly. Or would it make sense to pull just the engine harness from the h series and swap it with the b series engine harness. All the main connectors look the same.
Also since I am able to run a custom tune on the h series ECU. Would I have the ability to not have a stupid dash lights for stuff that is not part of my car anymore?

If your running a chipped obd1 Ecu and getting it tuned you can run just one wire from Ecu pin a4 to the vtec solenoid. I wouldn’t run a h22 Ecu, I’d run a chipped p28, p72 or any chipped obd1 vtec Ecu for it.
There is a way to chip and tune the H22 (P13) ECU... very few know this process. It is essentially a lost art. I can't think of a good reason to use a P13 ECU for tuning since you are essentially limiting your tuning options.
I don’t know specifically about the p13 but I’ve always heard that prelude and accord ecus you can tune fueling but not ignition timing. Not sure if that’s accurate or not. Never done the research and it was just easier to tell people to get a civic or integra Ecu to chip since I know they will work.
