EP3 Hybrid Question
With a lot of states now doing emissions testing by verifying there are no OBD2 trouble codes it is very hard to modify an 96+ car.
I like the EP3's and would kinda like to pick one up but do type s motor or maybe a 2.4L hybrid of some sort. Can a swap be done like that and still have the OBD2 diagnostic port functioning so it can pass inspection?

I suppose that any K motor would probably work then if you used the ECU for that engine. What about a frank motor with a k24 block and a type s head that you would have to run with K pro? Does K pro retain the OBD2 diagnostic port?
witht the k-pro ecu it would give you the codes it would work just as stock, but if you nneded to pass emissions you'd just have to get it tuned to be close to what the factory ecu does off throttle at cruising speed
