Default ctr pistons on a gsr block???

is it bad to use ctr pistons on a street and daily driven b18c1? what are the ups and downs? what is the best compression for a street NA car?

ive heard 11:1 is good
runs great on 92, but when you get to 11.5 up to 12+ you got to start worrying about detination and idle, not to mention vavle lift

No you shouldn't use them. The compression ratio would
be way too high. They are only good on the B16 block.
But you CAN use the ITR pistons.

ITR runs a 10.9:1 does it not?(might be 10.6:1*shrug*) what does the CTR run? and 11:1 is not to bad (well gas sucks) seems to run fine to me. again why would the CTR be to much?

That is totally correct-your compression ratio would be too high and you have to remember that the GSR combustion chamber has a clover leaf design.

ok ok so that is the difference, the shape and design is different placeing the vavle reliefs in different spots cuz the heads are shaped different. hmmm.... i didnt want to pretend to know, thats why i asked. hell, i just ordered what i needed, not knowing it could be different for the B16

I run ctr's in a j spec b18c all day long on 92 octane. I have no problems. I am worried about valve clearance w after market cams though! or even cam gears.

ctr pistons in a gsr head is 11.6 cr. You can have up to 11.8 to 1 on pump gas. By the way the new celica is 11.5 to 1.
