Default crx with a type r?>.....

does any one know what the work is that is involved with swapping a type r into a crx, i look everywhere and cant find a person actually talk about the work it took for them to swap that engine if anyone knows thanx

You need B-series mount kit (HASport), a wiring harness, and a conversion kit to go from cable to hydraulic operated clutch. As far as wiring,the speedometer goes, I am not sure. The CRX is cable driven the R is not. But to get it running and bolted in, you need all the above. It can be done. Its all a matter of how.

why not just get a cable tranny and bolt it up to the ITR motor. Many problems solved.

I hear the cable to hydro conversion fo the tranny is tricky and expensive.
Why not put type R cams and pistons in a B16 / B18 ? Might be cheaper.

the tranny part isnt as tricky as the OBD 2 to OBD 0 conversion...........IM TBONE....got any pix of your rex? or a site that tells how you did it? i am going to do this swap on my GF's rex and i would rather do it all myself then take it to some shop who will charge me a shitload to do the wiring..........

I'm about to purchase a crx w/b18c5 motor and a b16 tranny. He said the speedometer is not hooked up. What connection needs to be wired to the cluster? Will the VSS to instrument cluster connection make any difference in the way the motor and tranny functions? I'm thinking it won't make any difference once the VSS is connected to the cluster except I will be able to tell how fast I am going.
